Because you have a lot of styles on your harddisk with the same leading numbers “01,02,11” etc. you have to rename
them before you can copy styles, because when you have styles like 01Rock, 01Beat, 01tango the technics keyboard only sees
1 style.

Install the program, run TechnicsCOPY.exe and start explorer
Just look for files with the explorer search function…*rock* or something like that.
Then drag and drop the styles to each group and select copy to A:\

BECAUSE I CAN'T ATTACH FILES TO THIS NOTES
YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE FILE FROM http://www.ca-software.de/ though I have
a special Synth Zone version

Wim Kersten

A long time ago I made the Cakewalk.ins file that people can download
from your site.

Hi Wim,
excellent idea for a program, and a clever and simple user interface.
I use a freeware called CKRename which allows easy renaming of multiple files.

Your program is very useful for anyone without a sx6 or sx3 keyboard hard disk.

If I could make one constructive suggestion, the screenshot I saw had space for 10 files. Is it worth having space for 20 files, since in 6000/6500 format it is very easy to fit 20 performance files on a floppy?

However for KN5000 and 3000 owners this is all you should need.

Well done!

Hi Wim,
as Alec, I have to say you've done a great work.
The idea of 20 files "window" is good, because
you can fit 20 files for most KN's on the diskette
too, if i.e. you only use .cmp and .lsw.

Hi Alec, I assumed from your earlier post that you had already downloaded the program and 'previewed' it

Hi Wim,
Thanks for emailing me the Technics Style Copy Program. It will certainly be a very useful utility for all of us that exchange music. I will write about it in the next Technics Forum Newsletter, but I will not be attaching it to the newsletter as it is close to 3 mgs, a little too much to mail to so many people. I will give your website and email address instead and the folks can download their own copy.
I agree that 20 slots would be much better for the newer Keyboards if that is managable for you.
Incidently, I am still getting requests for your Technics instrument definations. Please post info here for that if you would and thanks.
Thanks again for your good work and best to you from all of us at the TECHNICS FORUM.

For those who seem not to know, Wim's instrument definition file has been here for years at the Technics Link page:

Wim's program is downloadable at my WebSite ,
and it's a new 20 files version.
The Cake-KN.ins files have been linked for
quite a long time at my pages too.
Look into the Technical and/or Progs pages.
GJ

Btw,
Wim, you have a website of your own, why don't
you upload the program yourself??

Added 01 April:
A new version with a new nice print option is
downloadable.
